Carl Hester, MBE is an athlete and a sportsman with horses in his blood. Raised on the Channel Island of Sark, where there are no cars and horses are a part of everyday life.
At the age of 19, looking for a job, Carl turned to the mainland with the one thing he knew above all else, horses. Following an advert in ‘Horse and Hound’, Carl arrived in Hampshire at the Fortune Centre for adults with learning and physical disabilities. It was at the Fortune Centre that Carl had his first opportunity with a horse to compete, winning the Young Dressage Rider Championship.
Since those humble beginnings Carl has gone on to win medals in the; World Cup; European Championships; World Championships; and, representing Great Britain, the Olympics. Winning Gold in both the European Championships and European Championships.
Today, Carl has fulfilled his lifetime dream of building and owning his own yard, where he breeds and trains horses, as well as runs his dressage school.
